1 Peter 4:19 says, “Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.”
This verse is filled with truth that is a rock to us as we navigate this life.
First, we are called to entrust our souls. The word entrust in the Greek means to place before. An example is food on table, we “place food before” a guest at a diner table. We place our souls before a faithful creator.
Which brings us to the second truth here. God is faithful. He can be trusted. Every time. Even when we doubt, worry, stress or question, God is faithful. He is faithful to protect, provide, love, secure, give. He is unchanging. He is faithful.
Lastly, is the phrase, “while doing good”. Many times suffering produces a response of running away or being paralyzed. If we have really entrusted our souls to a faithful Creator, we can continue to do good.
