Day 16 | Evangelism and Angels
1 Peter 1:12 says that angels never tire and long to look at the “good news:”
12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.
This “good news” is Euaggelion (YOU-ANG-GEL-EON) or evangelism that we thought about yesterday. The angels never tire of examining the “good news” that Jesus Christ has lived and died as a substitute so that we could have relationship with a Holy God.
Evangelism is so much more than just telling people about Jesus. It is thinking, knowing and proclaiming the “good news” of who Jesus is and what He has done all around you.
Here is our “Gospel Verse” to read, memorize and/or meditate on today:
Gospel Verse: Romans 5:8 (ESV)
8 But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Proclaim this verse to yourself today. As you do, begin to ask God to show you how and who to proclaim the gospel of Jesus. Ask Him to open your eyes to the truth of the gospel and for opportunities to outwardly proclaim the “good news” of Jesus.
