Day 17 | Evangelism and the Church
Romans 1:16 says, “The gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” We need to proclaim the gospel, or evangelize, to those who do not trust in the message of the gospel. But we miss the whole of the idea of evangelism if we do not proclaim the gospel in all areas.
Today, we want you to think and pray through those around you, in your church, family, community group, neighborhood or workplace, who needs to hear the good news of the gospel?
Before you do that, here is today’s verse:
Gospel Verse: Mark 10:45 (ESV)
The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Read, memorize and/or meditate on this verse today. As you do pray verbal prayers asking God who around you needs to know this today and then do not be silent. Send a text, make a call, stop by on your way home and proclaim that gospel.
Here is another great verse to pray as you ask Jesus to open your eyes to gospel opportunities this week:
Ephesians 6:18–20 (ESV)
18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
